AWS Presales/Solution Engineer

rockITdata is seeking an AWS Pre-Sales Engineer able to work across both the Private and Public Sectors, supporting customer engagement, sales, and capture activities across Federal, State, Local, Education (SLED), and Commercial market segments.

 

A Presales/Solutions Engineer is a critical role that drives the evaluation stage of our sales process and evangelizes rockITdata's cutting-edge solutions to prospects, customers, and partners. In this role, you will work closely with our Sales, Marketing, Operations, Support, Product Management, and Engineering teams to pursue and close large enterprise deals. Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer-facing presentations on core competencies and technical solution offerings for assigned accounts and focus areas

  • Provide technical and business expertise to sales teams and customers on designated solution focus areas

  • Assist sales team with identifying and capturing customer business and technical requirements during the sales cycle and determining recommended solution

  • Provide technical sales support in meetings and on conference calls

  • Define product functional requirements based on customer needs and document specific configuration requirements    

  • Assist sales team with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity qualification and development

  • Build and continuously improve the presales to migration assessment/readiness internal interlock mechanism at scale to help customers successfully migrate their business to AWS

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of AWS & Salesforce products

  • Lead and assist system design efforts and technical discussions

  • Conduct detailed and technical product demonstrations and presentations

  • Implement, monitor, and support large-scale pilot and proof of concept installations for Strategic Accounts

  • Support technical responses to RFP’s

  • Develop and finalize solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solutions

  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions  

  • Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for customer technical staff regarding proposed solution and its design, configuration, implementation, and testing specifics

  • Function as technical liaison and ambassador with channel sales and technical teams

  • Establish and maintain technical relationships with strategic partner accounts to optimize and streamline the sales process of products and services.

  • Assist sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects or approach of a recommended solution

  • Provide subject matter expertise on all AWS and related projects

  • To lead and grow an AWS practice

  • Develops a solid understanding of rockITdata programs and technical offerings

  • Other duties, as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Drive continuous improvement in the methodologies through collaborative and proactive activities across the teams

  • Work with Business Development team to identify customers' already migrating to AWS and build a follow up mechanism to provide value to the customers'

  • Proven track record of successful presales and solution development and customer engagement

  • Demonstrated knowledge of key technologies, account business rhythms, & technical priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present and communicate with executives in a manner that conveys confidence and engenders approval

  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and collaboratively lead cross-functional teams

  • Drive continuous analytical thinking across team members to derive appropriately innovative solutions

  • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers in the organization

  • Proven record of high achievement and commitment to quality work

  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts to support the sales cycle and process

  • Superior attention to detail, writing and presentation skills

  • Develop and maintain high quality relationships with internal and external customers and partners

  • Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision

  • The ability to operate at the senior level and influence, negotiate and close

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects

  • Ability to adapt to various people and working styles under tight deadlines

  • Possess excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills

  • Editing skills; exceptional knowledge of grammar and punctuation

  • Willing to travel up to 10% for specific corporate; leadership; and Customer/Conference engagements

Qualifications ​

  • 5+ years’ experience in technical presales or consulting roles

  • 2+ years in AWS Pre-Sales or related Cloud technologies    

  • Demonstrated experience and success in AWS Pre-Sales efforts, with preferred experience with AWS Connect across both the Private (commercial) and Public (Federal and SLED) sectors.

  • AWS certifications (preferred)

  • Must have experience in a Contact Center environment

Pay ​

  • Competitive Salary (Negotiable based on experience and demonstrated skills)
